Dosbarth Cherry have had a great time using watercolours to create landscapes! We thought carefully about what colours could be mixed to make the shade we wanted as well as considering how water affects the painting.
Cosmeston Lake trip
Dosbarth Cherry loved our trip pond dipping at Cosmeston Lakes this week in order to investigate a different habitat. We found lots of creatures such as Stickleback and a Water Scorpion!
In our music lesson this week, we were lucky enough to play a range of instruments such as drums and bells!
Dosbarth Cherry loved learning new skills on their bike this week despite the rain!
Welsh cake making - enterprise week
This week, we created our own Welsh cakes. We made traditional Welsh cakes as well as the new and improved flavours of cherry and chocolate. As part of enterprise week, we created persuasive posters in order to persuade people to buy our Welsh cakes!
This week in Science, Cherry have created their own newton meters using 100g weights. We then used our newton meters to measure the force of items in our classroom. Have a look at what we got up to...
Big Pit Trip
Cherry class has an exciting opportunity to go to Big Pit and learn all about the history of Welsh coal mining. We really enjoyed putting on our protective gear to go down to the mine where we were fascinated with our tour with John!
World Book Day
Cherry class have had a great time during World Book Day where we dressed up as our favourite fictional characters as well as brought in our favourite books to share with our friends.

During our helpwr heddiw sessions, we have been focusing on sports in Welsh and asking and answering questions based on this.

In order to immerse ourselves in the life of a tudor, we had a Tudor day where we came to school in our best costume and took part in activities which happened in that era!
These activities included creating our own pomanders and practising our writing using ink and a feather pen.

As part of our learning about the Tudors, we started exploring the plague. We learnt all about how it was caused, it's gruesome symptoms and how they tried to treat it. Using all the information we had gathered, we planned and wrote our own report about the plague. Take a look below to see what we got up to..
