From Wednesday 2nd October, Class Willow will learning to use our newly established library area in order to borrow books to take home to read with a grown up. It is very important that children return the books when they have finished reading them, so they are able to select another book to enjoy.
If books are not returned children will be unable to choose another book to take home and you may be charged for the missing book.
Please keep visiting to see the wonderful things we are learning about!
PE lessons will be every Tuesday morning and will be taught by Mrs O'Brien. Please make sure that on Tuesdays:
In order to make good progress in their learning, every week your child will need to:
A mini project linked to our 'Scrumdiddlyumptious' topic will be given at the beginning of the term. Your child can choose which activity to carry out each week and how they would like to present it.
Red homework books will be provided for any homework/spellings your child carries out.
Year 3 take part in the accelerated reading scheme, where they are given 20 minute independent reading time every day. AR is a computer program that helps to manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his/her own level and reads it at his/her own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer - passing the quiz is an indication that your child has understood what has been read. AR gives both children and teachers feedback based on the quiz results which the teacher then uses to help the child set targets and ongoing reading practice.
